Do the gospels contain a critique of Greek philosophy?

046 Do the gospel writers accept all of the ideas of Greek philosophy?

046 Insofar as Mark may have adopted Homer’s literary “circles” for his gospel, this in itself would be a statement that he was not prepared to ‘blindly’ accept all of Plato’s opinions. Plato (the dominant Greek philosopher) did not like Homer and he opposed democracy. c/f Creighton University, “Comments on Plato’s Apology,” Critical and Historical Introduction to Philosophy (Nebraska: Creighton University)
